The DS brand got its name thanks to the Citroen DS model - a business class car manufactured by the French company Citroen in 1955-1975 and unofficially called the “Goddess” because the DS (de-es) sounds the same in French. as the word Déesse is a goddess.
Starting in March 2010 and the DS3 model, CITROËN initiated the DS brand as a separate premium brand. Building on the best of French know-how, DS continues to follow the principles inherited from the first DS models released back in 1955: to be innovative and different. Designed specifically for customers looking for a way to express themselves, the DS range now includes five models: DS 3, DS 3 CABRIO, DS 4, DS 5, and DS 5LS and DS 6, which are sold only in China. The DS line boldly declares itself in terms of style, driving pleasure and sophistication. And it stands out thanks to advanced technology, such as the Hybrid4 DS5 hybrid diesel transmission. In the showrooms of CITROËN dealerships in Europe, the DS line boasts its own “DS zones”, and in China - an extensive network of car dealerships dedicated exclusively to DS. For its customers, DS has become a brand that goes far beyond the scope of the product, including a number of exclusive premium services, for example, DS PRIVILEGE Club. In 2013, the DS premium brand confirmed its success - its total sales in the world amounted to 120,000 units. To date, 500,000 DS vehicles have been sold worldwide.
